CITRINE BULLRING GATE - RHS CHELSEA 2024
Embellishing the beautiful structure of the Bullring Gate, BONES is inspired by the ‘bare bones of floristry mechanics’ & the often hidden tricks of the trade used by floral artists to create large scale installations. The colour palette majors on green, including uncanny, architectural & unusual plants & flowers, & the exhibit makes a feature of planet-friendly floristry methods & materials.
The three main components used to build the installation are Dutch buckets, chickenwire & moss, all materials used in floristry to create structure & hold water, but also to be dismantled, reassembled & used again in future projects. Designers from collaborative floral studio CITRINE are championing these reusable materials, to bring them to the forefront of floral design.
This modern take on traditional floristry showcases the practices used before floral foam – now banned from all RHS Shows – flooded the market with microplastics.
